Hello! With a background in museums and public history, I have a passion for public speaking and getting to share my love of history with others! Check out my bio, FAQ and program list below!
Hello! I’m Andrew Kercher, a freelance historian and lecturer! I have spent my entire working life in the museum field, living in the Straits of Mackinac for close to a decade before returning to graduate school and then working in both metro Detroit and museums in my hometown of Port Huron. I have a passion for public speaking and getting to share my love of history with others! I’ve spoken at dozens of libraries around the state and am happy to provide references for many satisfied library program managers who have hosted me at their institution. I am available both in-person or virtually. I am fortunate enough to have a rather flexible work schedule, so I can usually work out most times, including weekday engagements. Typically for programs within an hour and a half drive of Port Huron (which includes all of metro Detroit) my rate is $250 for an hour long program with an opportunity for Q&A. This covers both the presentation and my travel expense. Working in the non-profit field myself, I know how tight library budgets can be, so I do like to work with libraries to stay flexible and available. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at Andrew.L.Kercher@gmail.com or call at 810.841.4569 for any questions about presentations, availability and booking. I look forward to hearing from and getting to bring a fun, engaging and educational presentation to your library. Below are just a few of my more popular presentations, and I am always open to new topic requests!
